Our Big Gig Comes To Woking Park Sat 12 July 2014 12-7pm

Once again The Phoenix Cultural Centre will be hosting the Big Gig for Woking. This is a national celebration of live music that takes place across the weekend of 11-13 July this year. Our event is on Saturday 12 July and goes from 12-7pm and features acts from Woking Borough who prove that the town is still able to be proud of it’s musical heritage and it’s musical future. With experienced and new bands, free workshops, open mic, busking and a big hooley it’s going to be a day to remember, and it is all FREE!!!

What better place than the lovely Woking Park to experience what the Phoenix Centre is all about, welcoming, relaxed and very supportive to be there for everyone, bringing all the communities of Woking together and inspire people through music. Our Big Gig represents exactly what we are about.

We have been lucky enough to have help with this from Superact the charity who are commissioned to deliver and support Our Big Gig nationally, JellyTreeTV.com who are providing power and gazebo at cost and PRS for music who have supported this event by licensing us for free.

The bands playing are from Woking and represent a variety of genres, we are all very proud of their contribution to the day and to Woking’s talent locally and raising the profile of the Town. We do still have open mic and busking slots.

And in true Phoenix tradition it wouldn’t be one of our events without a HOOLEY!!

Bring along an instrument to join in at the Hooley and Busking sessions or just relax with family and friends on the day, bring a blanket and a picnic. Please ensure that any rubbish is taken away with you at the end of the event.
